Our activities have shifted in focus over the years. In the
beginning, no one in the art underground had videocameras or recorders so
we lent out equipment, or filmed scenes for artists and performers, social
events. Today when everyone has a miniDVcam or similar our focus is
more on help in the areas of post-production and restoration of old
material - audio and video. The possibilities of digital correction
and digital storage expand in breadth and time the world of videoculture.
- Video Restoration
-
We have an extensive collection of well-maintained equipment
for the playing of obsolete formats in video and audio
recordings. We also are equipped with digital signal correction
equipment to make this antique material at least comfortably
viewable. We have half-inch reel-to-reel videorecorders in most
types and in US as well as European Video Standards (including British
first-generation 405-line). We have Snell and Wilcox standards
conversion and signal correction equipment as well as DVD mastering
and duplication in-house.

- Production/Post-production
-
We have DV format cameras, lighting equipment, tripods
- Stills and titles as well
as digital and photochemical image handling are available and
easy.
-
We have both analogue and digital editing facilities which will
shortly be upgraded to include AVID editing capability.
- Our Archives and Archive Management
Services
-
Producing and collecting since 1966, we have accumulated over
50,000 hours of video material in the fields of art, performance,
dance, opera, video art and installations, computer graphics and
virtual installations. The indexing of this material is a
long-standing and never-ending activity and the preparation of an
up-to-date online catalogue is a principal activity at this
moment. Our experience and expertise in this area equip us to
help individuals and other institutions to set up and develop their
database index programs and collection management procedures.
