Videoheads on TV!Friesian service of Dutch TV making Documentary based on 20-year-old tapeSeptember 22, 2007 -- Friesian filmmaker Simon Haringa is preparing a documentary inspired by a videotape made by Videoheads in 1985. The tape shows a huge crowd of gay men gathered to celebrate Koninginnedag in front of the Kleine Komedie and the Monopol bar. Haringa uses clips from this tape combined with interviews with individuals seen in the tape to reveal the tragic AIDS situation which has wrecked or ended the lives of so many in those images. Provisionally titled Dansen op de Volcaan (Dancing on the Volcano), Jack Moore of Videoheads, who made the original tape in 1985, will also be interviewed in the course of the program. It is planned that the program will be broadcast around December 1, 2007 as part of a series of programs commemorating World AIDS Awareness Day.
